Let’s be real… if you’re a mom, you don’t have time for a 10-step skincare routine.
Between kids, work, and everything in between, skincare can feel like one more thing on your plate.
But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be complicated to feel good in your skin as you age.
This is a simple skincare routine for busy moms is quick, effective, and easy to stick to.

The Simple 3-Step Routine
If you do nothing else, start here:
Morning
* Cleanser
* Moisturizer
* SPF
Night
* Cleanser
* Treatment (retinol or serum)
* Moisturizer
Simple. Done in minutes.
1. A Simple Cleanser That Works
You don’t need anything fancy or expensive — just a cleanser that removes dirt, oil, and makeup without drying your skin out.
I like to think of it as washing the stress away at the end of the day.
Lazy Mom Tip:
Keep your cleanser in the shower so it becomes part of your routine.
My favorite dermatologist recommended products:
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Foaming Cleanser
Vanicream Gentle Facal Cleanser (great for sensitive skin)
Also, you’re not lazy, you’re a busy mom who values simple routines.
2. A Moisturizer That Does the Heavy Lifting
If you skip everything else, don’t skip moisturizer.
It keeps your skin hydrated, smooth, and helps everything else work better.
Lazy Mom Tip:
Choose one that works for both face and body to simplify your routine.
My favorite dermatologist recommended:
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
La Roche-Posay Double Repair Moisturizer
Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer
3. SPF - Especially when using retinol
If there’s one step to prioritize in the morning, it’s SPF.
When using the right ones, it helps prevent aging, sun damage, and protects your skin long-term.
Lazy Mom Tip:
Use a tinted SPF moisturizure so you can skip foundation and moisturizer if you just want a quick glow.
My favorite dermatologist recommended:
CeraVe AM Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen
EtlaMD UV Daily Sunscreen Moisturizer
4. Extra Steps (If You Want More Results)
Once you have the basics down, you can add one targeted product at a time.
Start small, you don’t need everything. Then add to it once you see how your skin reacts or if you have multiple target areas pick the main one first.
Simple starter options:
* Retinol (for aging + texture)
* Hyaluronic acid (for hydration)
* Vitamin C (for brightening)
My Favorites:
The Ordinary Retinol Serum
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum
The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%, Vitamin C Serum
You don’t need 10 products. You need a few that you’ll actually use and that make a difference.
PS - I really like The Ordinary Serums they are good quality and budget friendly!
5. Multitasking Products - If you need something even more simple
If you want results without adding extra steps, multitasking products are the way to go.
They combine multiple benefits into one — perfect for busy moms who dont really get all hyped about a skincare routine but want to give yourself a little something extra in the morning.
My Favorites:
IT Cosmetics CC Cream (SPF 50)
✔ skincare + foundation + SPF
✔ gives a natural, even glow
✔ perfect for “get ready in 2 minutes” days
RoC Multi-Correction Moisturizer with SPF
✔ hydration + anti-aging + SPF
✔ helps with fine lines and texture
✔ great for simple routines
My Personal Starter line up
If I had to keep it simple, these are the ones I chose first:
Simple, affordable, and work.
Final Thoughts
You’re not lazy, you’re busy and overwhelmed with life.
And your skincare routine should support your life to make you feel good, not overwhelm it.
Start simple. Stay consistent. And give yourself permission to take care of you, too.
If you try any of these, I’d love to hear what works for you 🤍
